We recently went on a jungle trekking adventure in Kitulgala,and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The Moksha hotel arranged Our tour guide, *Danushka Maduranga*, did an exceptional job throughout the journey. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to everyone’s safety and comfort. Danushka shared fascinating insights about the area, guided us through some amazing trails, and kept the whole group engaged with his positive energy. Highly recommend Danushka to anyone looking for a well-organized and exciting trekking experience. Thank you for making our trip so memorable!
My goodness, this place was majestic...
My goodness, this place was majestic. Arrived at 8pm with family and was taken care of with immense compassion by Sudharsan and his amazing team. Endless smiles and unconditional support at all times - even at 2am when plug outlets were malfunctioning! Chef Manula and Sampath crafted an amazing assortment of dinner and dessert items, followed by an absolutely fantastic, organic kithul treacle (syrup) fueled breakfast. Surrounded by luscious biodiversity, abundant kithul trees, endless bird songs, fresh leaf fragrance, and the soothing sounds of the nearby Kelani river. YOU MUST take a chance on the kithul farming experience, as you get to learn about the magic behind Sri Lanka’s finest export product.
Food was next-level!
We chose Moksha at Kitulgala as our honeymoon destination and it was the best decision ever! 😍 From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with warm smiles and top-notch hospitality. The calm greenery views, spacious and spotless rooms, and beautiful natural pool made our stay incredibly relaxing. To be honest, the food was next-level! Every dish was super delicious, beautifully presented. Big shout out to the amazing chef and lovely staff 👏 And the surprise honeymoon cake is such a sweet touch We truly had the most memorable, peaceful and luxurious honeymoon. Can’t wait to come back.. Highly recommended ❤️

Booked at short notice and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. A lovely gem of a hotel in the rainforest just up from the town of Kitulgala. Don’t try walking it but a short tuk tuk arranged by the hotel collected us and brought us in. Rooms beautiful, a/c, en suite, large comfy bed and I believe all rooms have balconies overlooking the pool and forest. Everything we needed. Has a range of b&b, half board and full board options. Swimming pool was lovely and there is a natural rock pool in the adjacent stream you can use too. On site restaurant and bar serving wide international options, breakfast was 4 courses, wow set me up for the day. Not loads of rooms which makes it more intimate but you can book on various platforms or as we did, called direct on the day. Hotel can arrange drivers in cars or tuk tuks and also does its own excursions. Great time here, would definitely recommend a stay here on your trip round Sri Lanka.
Overall, it was a fantastic vacation
We visited Moksha in Kitulgala for a short getaway with our 3 month old baby. We chose this peaceful and serene location as it’s conveniently close to Colombo. The hotel premises are truly stunning, surrounded by lush greenery, with a small river nearby that adds to its natural beauty. The hotel offers 5 star facilities with all the necessary amenities, including a baby cot. The staff was exceptionally helpful and supportive, making our stay even more comfortable as we traveled with a baby. We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel owners, a kind and wonderful couple. The meals were delicious, and I highly recommend them. The hotel also provides secure parking facilities, so you can park your vehicle without any worries. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation with our baby, and we are excited to visit again in the future!

Brilliant accommodation, tours and hospitality at Moksha. The team were wonderful, very welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. The location was amazing in the forest with many forest walks, waterfalls and water sports near by. The food was very special and perfectly curated, breakfast was very impressive, you can select of an extensive menu each day. The dinner was varied and beautifully cooked and put together. I would recommend if you want to hike in the jungle, relax in a very comfortable hotel with perfect service.
