Most wonderful place in Sri Lanka
We found this hidden gem by lucky accident and couldn’t be more happy about it! When it comes to view, silence and scenery we can’t imagine you will find something comparable to this heaven on earth. You are surrounded by nature with a stunning view of the lake, the only sounds you here throughout the day are the lovely bird sounds of the great variety of different species living here. The infinity pool is situated perfectly in the surroundings with an amazing view of the lake. The rooms are amazingly comfortable, well equipped with a mixture of traditional and modern furniture and local art. The whole property and architecture is well thought through.
Absolutely beautiful property
Absolutely beautiful property surrounded by an amazing salt water lake which has been dubbed "lunu-ganga" by Geoffrey Bawa, the legendary architect. Take a dip in the pool or go for a boat ride. If you are a Bird lover, this place will be perfect for you. While you are there, you can also visit Bawa's property which is a 5 minute walk down the dirt road. An unforgettable time.
We had an awesome time with family and friends
We had an awesome time with family and friends at Minnehaha. Nihal & his team made us feel welcome and ensured that we lacked nothing. Minehaha is an ideal getaway from the hustle & bustle of Colombo. The view of the river, the subtle sounds of nature & the tranquility makes you not want to ever go back to city living. The children enjoyed the boat ride and picking lotus flowers from the river. The food was delicious and the rooms were spacious and well equipped. I would recommend this resort and will be looking forward to revisit Minnehaha on our next holiday to Sri Lanka .

We spent the two days at the Minehaha resort and it was an amazing experience. The villa is beautiful, with excellent views of the lake. The pool was great. The water was clean and the view were beautiful! We spent half a day enjoying the pool. The food was excellent - we had breakfast and dinner there a couple of times. I loved the fudge + ice-cream they provided us and also the home made Sri Lankan food they cooked for us. We went for an early morning boat ride on the lake. This was one of my favorite parts of the stay. We saw some beautiful birds including a White-bellied Sea Eagle. My sons went Kayaking and had a great time! The host was wonderful and made us feel welcome. He was extremely helpful. He arranged the taxi back to the airport for us and woke up at 3am to make sure the taxi came and we had no issues! If you like staying in a luxury villa during your vacation - I would strongly recommend this place!

The hotel is in a beautiful location, overlooking the lake. A unique atmosphere, perfect for switching off and relaxing your body and mind. The service was exceptional and very attentive, and at the end of our stay we were treated to a boat ride with a unique sunrise. We would love to come back.
Everything in the entire villa was immaculately maintained
Being very fond of small hotels that offer more freedom and privacy, we were delighted to have discovered Minnehaha. It was the perfect place for a holiday with our toddler and baby, so serene and beautiful. We stayed in the gorgeous suite bedroom, which had it's own plunge pool, living room, dining and kitchenette which was very convenient when travelling with kids. Everything in the entire villa was immaculately maintained. Even meals were delicious and well presented, and the table was always neatly set- evident of lots of attention to detail. All this wouldn't have been as wonderful without the welcoming and friendly host, Nihal, who owns the villa which has been in his family for generations. It was a pleasure getting to know him and also learn about the history of Minnehaha and the areas around it.
