Staff is super friendly

Superb place to visit. Had a great time there. View and the atmosphere is out of this world. Their A la cart menu has a big selection and their fire wood pizza is a must try. We have tried their traditional meal Iringu Bath ( Rice) that was an out of this world experience. Staff is super friendly.

A novel experience!

This is a lovely place to visit if your visiting with family or a small group of friends. Ideal for peace & nature lovers. You can expect a warm welcome and great care by Nalin & Sanjeewani. Nalin is very welcoming and he will ensure all your requests are attended. You can enjoy a nice breakfast or dinner at their beautiful deck overlooking the mountains or choose to rest by the bonfire at night tasting some delicious pizza. They also have a lovely breakfast menu as well as an ala carte menu. All the food we had was great. The villa is a little away from Ella city, so if you wish to visit Ella city, remember to make some provision for travelling. A great stay and super service :)

The food was absolutely amazing

Araliya Villa is a lovely bungalow nestled up in a mountain with a beautiful view. It's a wonderful location to wind down and relax. The food was absolutely amazing and we loved every single meal we had. The hike to Visari ella was also a really great adventure. Anil was an absolute star and made sure that our stay was very comfortable. We have no hesitation in highly recommending.

The hosts are incredible

What an amazing find, such a beautiful villa with breathtaking views. The hosts are incredible, couldn’t do more for us and food was exceptional! We were welcomed, looked after and even taken to see where the food is farmed truly amazing experience! Is is a little way outside Ella so you need a vehicle, but if looking for an “off the grid” style location this is perfect!

This place was a real treat

What a find! We stayed in the recently opened Clubhouse adjacent to the Villa itself. Absolutely amazing. Whilst a little outside Ella itself, it was well worth the drive and had a 5* luxury feel akin to the 98 Acres resort in Ella town, but at a much lower price-point (for now at least - get in quick!) and greater privacy. With the dining area, swimming pool, views, super-attentive staff and the 3 rooms (each with King Sized netted beds and smaller children’s beds) it is perfect for groups of families or 3 couples. The food was lovely. This place was a real treat.

Idyllic spot with luxury feel

We stayed in the ‘Clubhouse’ for 2 nights and wished we could stay for much longer - what a treat! Rooms are spacious, each with king sized bed and a single bed, beautiful outside bathroom (netted for insects) and access to the long wide balcony with plunge pool, living and dining area plus fabulous views. It’s wonderfully quiet - the pay off is to get this level of peace, it’s a little south of Ella - and staff are kind & helpful. It’s a gem of a place - don’t hesitate, book now!

The guides were amazing!

This canyoning experience was the perfect mix of thrill and natural beauty. I arrived a bit nervous, but the team made me feel confident right away. The short jungle hike was lovely, and once we hit the water, the excitement kicked in. The smaller slides and jumps helped me build up courage, and by the end, I was doing the big leaps with a huge smile! The guides were amazing , supportive, funny, and totally on top of things. I left soaked, happy, and full of great memories. If you’re looking for a unique adventure, don’t skip this one!

The natural pools were stunning and felt untouched

An adventure I’ll never forget! From the start, the Rapid Adventure crew were friendly and professional. They made sure everyone understood the safety procedures and felt ready for the experience. The forest walk was short but scenic, setting the stage for the adventure. The canyoning itself was pure joy. The guides were encouraging and made sure everyone had fun, even those who were a bit nervous at first. The natural pools were stunning and felt untouched. A great mix of adrenaline and nature. I’d recommend it to anyone!

Our group felt well taken care

What an unforgettable adventure! Everything from the welcome at the Action Center to the final splash was perfectly managed. Our group felt well taken care of, especially with the thorough safety instructions and high quality gear. The canyoning itself was thrilling sliding down rocks and leaping into pools surrounded by rainforest was like being in a dream. I especially liked how the guides let us build confidence before the big jumps. They were attentive, humorous, and clearly love what they do. It’s the perfect balance of nature, adventure, and good vibes.

A truly awesome day!

I didn’t expect to enjoy canyoning this much it was incredible! The team was very professional, friendly, and knew exactly how to make everyone comfortable, no matter their experience level. The rainforest walk to the canyon was a great way to build anticipation. Once we started sliding and jumping, the fun didn’t stop. The water was clear and refreshing, and the natural rock formations made it feel like nature’s own playground. I appreciated how well the guides managed both safety and enjoyment. This isn’t just for thrill-seekers ;anyone who enjoys the outdoors will love it. A truly awesome day!

A unique and safe adventure

Kitulgala canyoning is pure fun! Everything was well organized from the moment we arrived at the Action Center. We were fitted with clean, solid gear and had a detailed safety rundown that made me feel confident despite it being my first time. The walk to the site was stunning lush greenery and the sound of water rushing nearby. Once we got into the action, the guides really helped us build up from small challenges to the big jumps. This was the highlight of my entire trip to Sri Lanka. The canyoning setup is super professional. The guides at Rapid Adventures were warm, funny, and clearly knew their stuff. I was a bit nervous, but the safety briefing helped me relax. Sliding down smooth rock faces and jumping into deep, clear pools surrounded by rainforest. The whole group was cheering each other on, and the vibe was amazing. You get wet, you get wild, and you leave grinning ear to ear. 10/10 experience!

Five stars from me

Everything about this Makandawa experience was seamless and professional. The pickup and welcome were smooth, and the guide explained everything in a calm, clear way. Once in the forest, it felt like another world. The trail took us through some of the most diverse and untouched rainforest I’ve seen. Our guide had eagle eyes. It’s rare to find a tour that balances safety, adventure, and respect for nature so well. Five stars from me.

The guides were attentive & kind

This trek felt like stepping into a hidden world. The forest was dense and alive, full of layers of green and constant sounds of wildlife. The guides were attentive, kind, and shared so much knowledge without ever overwhelming us. I liked that the group was small and respectful of the environment. We had time to look, listen, and truly take it all in. The return journey to Kitulgala was smooth and comfortable. I left with a deep appreciation for this forest and the people who protect it. If you want something real and raw this is it>

One of the most genuine nature experiences I’ve had

Makandawa trekking was one of the most genuine nature experiences I’ve had. Everything was well planned from the initial welcome to the final drop off. I appreciated the attention to safety and detail before entering the forest. The trail itself was raw and beautiful, not over commercialized at all. Our guide even spotted a rare bird and helped us see it through binoculars. This was not just exercise it was education, discovery, and serenity all in one. The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows.

The team was friendly yet professional

From the first moment, I knew this was going to be special. The team was friendly, professional, and deeply passionate about the rainforest. They took the time to explain what we might see and how to move through the forest responsibly. The trek through Makandawa was peaceful yet full of discovery insects, birds, flowering vines, and trees as tall as buildings. I particularly enjoyed the quiet moments where we’d just stop and listen. The guides answered all our questions with a smile and real knowledge. This felt like more than a tour it was a true nature immersion.

Truly an underrated gem in Sri Lanka!

This was more than just a hike it was a full sensory journey into one of the richest ecosystems I’ve ever visited. The guides made sure everyone was comfortable and briefed us well before the trek began. We spotted rare orchids, colorful birds, and giant tree canopies that looked ancient. It was clear the team respected the forest and wanted us to leave with that same respect. I’d gladly return to do it all again. Truly an underrated gem in Sri Lanka!

I felt a genuine connection to nature here

Makandawa is a magical place, and this trekking experience was top-notch. We were greeted warmly and offered a cool drink before heading out a nice touch. The guides were passionate about the environment and clearly experienced. I loved that they emphasized both safety and appreciation of the forest. The variety of plant life was stunning, and we even saw a bright green pit viper curled on a branch! It felt wild but never unsafe. The trek was immersive without being overly strenuous. I felt a genuine connection to nature here.

It was the perfect adrenaline rush in a truly beautiful setting. A unique and safe adventure I’d absolutely recommend to anyone.

10/10 experience!
